Ngondro Practice from Namchoe Cycle
Dzogchen Preliminaries, Great Perfection – Buddha in the Palm of the Hand
This is a practice session of Dzogchen Preliminaries (Ngondro) according to the Namchoe cycle called “Great Perfection – Buddha in the Palm of the Hand”. During each of these sessions, we will be doing a practice from the set of the four inner preliminaries that forms the foundation for spiritual development on a fast track. Through these intense practices for orientation of mind towards the path, accumulation of merit, purification of karma and familiarization with inner guru, one can prepare the foundation and then go on to practice the effortless path of Dzogchen (maha-sandhi-yoga) – taking natural perfection and spontaneous accomplishment as the path.
Though Ngondro is called a preliminary practice, in fact it is a complete and profound practice in itself. It covers aspects of all the levels of vehicles to enlightenment and thus integrates all essential aspects into a single practice set.
If you would like to know more about Ngondro practice, you can find them in the following books. “The Words of My Perfect Teacher” by Patrul Rinpoche and “Great Perfection Buddha in the Palm of the Hand” by Gyatrul Rinpoche.
Suitability: This Ngondro section is particularly suitable for those who have received transmissions of Ngondro teachings. Anyone else who wishes to put intense effort for a swift progress in spiritual path can also join in and familiarize with these practices.
