Vajrayana Sadhana and Meditation on the Buddha of Boundless Light
This is a meditation practice with an elaborate Vajrayana Sadhana to invoke the blessings of Buddha Amithabha – The Buddha of Boundless Light. Amitabha is the personification of the primordial wisdom of discernment. Realizing Amitabha at the ultimate level means realizing the inseparability of wisdom and emptiness, and attaining enlightenment. All appearances are expereinced as the pure display of awareness-emptiness. At the relative level, by remembering and practicing on Amitabha, it is possible to be reborn in the pure perception of the Sukhavati pure-realm of Amitabha. One will meet countless Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in that life, receive close guidance from them, perfect the realization and will attain enlightenment swiftly in that life. Thus, irrespective of whether one understands the view of ultimate truth clearly or not, the practice of Amitabha is beneficial. This sadhana also includes a long-life practice to restore and replenish the deteriorating elements and life-force.
You are also welcome to suggest names of your friends and relatives to whom you would like us to dedicate the benefit and merit from the session.
Sadhana of Accomplishing the Pure Land of Great Bliss (dechen zhing gi drub thab) is a liturgy for Amitabha practice composed by Raga Asya (Karma Chagme Rinpoche) in 17th Century based on the space treasure revelation (Namchoe terma cycle) of terton Mingyur Dorje.
Suitability: To engage in this practice with full understanding, an empowerment of Amitabha and oral transmission of the liturgy is required. However, those who do not have these can also join for this session and experience the blessing of Amitabha.
